Many are terrified to put their dreams, goals, aspirations or passions on the line for someone else’s.

Philippians 2:3-4

“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”

Losing oneself because of selflessness I find is a wonderful thing.

We all have ambitions, dreams, and passions the hardest thing I believe is when God asks of us to put all of those on the back burner to help someone else accomplish what God has placed in their heart.

That does not lessen our call or our dreams, but it helps us realize this; are those things all about us or about the people surrounding us and God?

I believe the more we lay down our pride and our selfish ambitions the more we get to see the scope of our selfless loving God in a clearer way.

We get to see the world from another point of view instead of our own all the time.

When our mission for our life is only self focused, I actually believe we will soon enough not be able to accomplish our mission, because soon enough a part of our mission will need other people.

If our mission for our life is not encompassed around others it will surely lose its beauty, and aroma to us over time.

The beauty that will come when we finally begin uniting the body together as one church, instead of “corporations” separated by names;

we will no longer accomplish Our desires for our world, but we will finally begin to accomplish HIS desires for His kingdom.

The only way to live our lives is selflessly.

That is the only way we will ever be fulfilled. It is by truly living others-focused that no matter the cost of sharing the Love that God has planted on the inside of us, is worth it.

I believe the more selfless we become in the right motives and heart, the more God is able to increase things in us and for us.

I find myself being more self focused when I am caught up in me and anything for me.

I get caught up in my problems that I’ll walk by people in the store, at Starbucks, even at church, that I forget the pain that the people that surround me every day have had to walk through in their own personal lives.

Lord, keep us from pride and keep us focused on others, we know we can’t do it without you, but remind us that we also can’t do this life without others.

Bring the right friendships into our lives for building up and helping us by shaking off anything not in the image of your son. So be it in your sons name, Amen.
