Removed.

Since this new way gives us such confidence, we can be very bold. 13 We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away. 14 But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. 15 Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand.16 But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2nd Corinthians 3:12-17

Saul who wrote this had a veil over his eyes, and when he encountered Jesus (aka the Christ) It was removed and he changed so dramatically that He changed His name from Saul to Paul. (Acts 9:1-19) So he of all people knows what he is talking about here. He was known as a man that would kill Christians or anyone that would talk about Jesus or place them in prison. He persecuted the church of God, than became a man that was used to write 40% of the New Testament.

Talk about a veil over his eyes, from persecuting and killing the people who profess Jesus as their savior, to professing himself of how weak and useless he is without the saving Grace of Jesus, the very Man he was going against in any way he could, ended up becoming the only thing that could fulfill him..

Paul, ends up living for Him because of an encounter which removed the veil over His eyes, because He obeyed God when He called. What ended up happening because of this veil being removed you may ask? Well many that where slaved by sin, broken hearted, abused, lost, and hurt by their culture and the people around them where healed, found and set free.

Thousands and even to this day millions are being brought to the Kingdom of God and being restored, because of Paul encountering God and having His veil removed…

Veil

In reality a veil covers our eyes and our face which stops people from seeing us fully and us seeing others fully. It hides “beauty” that when it is removed someone will be able to see how beautiful a bride is behind it.

When we have a veil over our face’s others wont be able to see the beauty of Christ fully and we wont be able to see them how Christ see’s them either… We wont be able to see God’s beauty and everything He is clearly as we should, if we continue to be okay with having a veil over our eyes.

What is our veil over our eyes that we need removed is my question? Maybe its not even just for our own healing, but what if when we encounter God in a new way that removes our veil, that it ends up bringing those around us and countless more to their own healing and freedom, because of them seeing and hearing about our veil removed and our story told?

So the question is again, what is the veil that is covering our eyes? It may even be something we never thought was or could be a veil. It can be a way we where raised. Some habits we picked up from someone around us. A outlook we see people in, because of something done to us. A outlook we even see God in, because of something happened in our life and it changed how we see Him. Something we think is impossible, because we have never seen it happen in our own life’s.

It could even be a promise from God we never saw happen when we prayed for it to be answered for our life, that because of that one time we doubt all of His promises a little bit or that one all together. It could even be us seeing our family saved, or us completely healed from our past, or us completely forgiven for our screw ups that happened today.

Maybe even us being used by Him, that can be a veil. The fear of not being used, or even the fear of being used that we think we will mess it up so we never take a step.

I pray that we humble ourselves before Him and ask Him to reveal these veils, and not just that, but that we encounter Him and His love that they may be removed completely that we may see others and Him clearly.

Those veils can be removed when we turn to Christ and allow Him to remove it. But once He does (because He will), we have to start walking and believing what He says and not go back to being covered by that veil. That veil is going to be removed, not just for momentary freedom, but freedom that we can walk in for any given situation or struggle.

We need to make sure we do not put the veil back over our eyes by not walking in that freedom…

Lord help us see clearly Your beauty.
