Something I have noticed in the past few years in leadership in Church and observing it in the Church is how we as the followers and even we as the leaders actually place our selves on a pedestal of “No thanks I don’t need prayer.” or “No they don’t need prayer they are close to God already.” Sometimes completely on accident.
If Jesus, in the garden of Gethsemane was seeking for His followers to pray for Him.
Who are we to think we are better then Jesus?
Have we placed ourselves in the mindset of leaders don’t need prayer because they are “closer” to God?
Well wait a minute.
Was Jesus not close to God? Umm pretty sure by my research of the Word, Jesus is the Son of God. Like the literal One.
We are adopted in as children, even when we where dirty…
That’s for another post.
We as leaders need prayer more then almost anyone! If a shepherd falls all the sheep that follow will become lost and wander to and fro, until another Shepherd takes place.
We have to be leading them to the good Shepherd, because we will fail at times.
Our concept as a leader shouldn’t be making more images of us, but Images of Jesus.
Then we are being a true leader, a true Shepherd.
Who are we to consider a leader or ourselves so “close to God” that we don’t need to be encouraged and lifted up or challenged to dig deeper and grasp tighter the Love of the Father.
My thoughts…
