Wait… What?

This thought has really been blowing my mind for a few years now actually, but was recently brought up and reworked in my heart by God. Here, I will help set the scene for us: Heavens throne room is filled with praise and worship, angels are shouting “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty.”

Then there are elders bowing down and throwing their crowns at the feet of Gods throne, and they are shouting Holy as well. There are creatures that are absolutely crazy hard to explain but they are also worshiping and shouting praises. It is so loud in the throne room of God that at the sound of the voices of the creatures, angels, and elders shouting that literally the kingdom of heaven is shaking, and filling with smoke.

Yet this God who is in heaven and is surrounded by all this noise hears US when we whisper.

Not just hears us, but listens to us in our darkest days…

I do not know about you guys, but I have often gotten so caught up in the “feeling” of the Love of the Father instead of the words and promises He has for me.

Basically what I am saying is, I think sometimes we can get so caught up in the feeling of God that we stop pursuing His love whether or not when we feel Him or not. He is surrounding us whether it is the most intense sensation or if nothing seems to be happening at all. He is there listening, He is there loving, He is there with peace, He is there…

We might even go through the different “motions” of worship from raising our hands to getting on our knees to maybe laying completely face down on the ground. We may go through a routine because God touched me last time when I raised my hands this way… Maybe I will feel Him again if I lay face down.. Maybe I’ll hear Him clearer if I’m on my knees.

See God is as much there with you and for you whether you are raising your hands, on your knees, face down, crying, laughing, shouting or whispering.. But, its the matter of are we receiving Him? We can actually hinder ourselves from encountering God by not receiving, letting go, or trusting Him.

God desires us to seek His Heart, not His touch. His touch is just a by product of His heart. His touch is just something that comes from His heart. I am not saying His touch is bad to seek after, but it should not be our focus. When we seek after Gods heart, healing just comes from His heart because we have a relationship with Him. When we seek His heart, Freedom is found in His presence which in return rubs off all over us.

If we only seek after freedom, if we only seek after healing, we are actually using God for His touch. We are using Him because we want something out of Him, instead of seeking after Him just because of who He is.

Let’s rewind a bit…what a God. What a God that He is so mindful of us. That He cares so much about us that amongst all the noise of His kingdom He listens. He loves us so much that He is always desiring after us.

He is desiring after me even when I am failing and even when I am running away from Him? He is as much with me when I’m on the mountain top as He is in the valley?  He is listening to my whispers? My joyful shouts? My cry when I’m all alone?
Wait… What?
I can’t wrap my mind around this! “What a Loving God,” is all I can say…

May we live in His promises.
