The Momentum

momentum

Momentum, what do you see this as? Do you see it as something like a snowball rolling down a hill, gaining speed and power as it goes faster? Do you see it as a car going around a corner with such speed you doubt that it will even make it? Do you see it as a person running and putting so much effort into each step you would not get in their way?

This thought of momentum has ran through my mind a few times these past few weeks, from being at Action Church for their first launch day. From doing events and being apart of an amazing ministry school that challenges you and grows you in ways you never thought was possible. The momentum of leading, of being apart of this momentum I have to control daily. I am learning to control my actions, my words in ways by just owning up to the things I have said, to the stupid things I do sometimes. Daily we as people in a world that requires action, requires a step each day to stretch ourselves or step one rock closer to the top of the mountain. Maybe its one step down into another process, through a valley. Where ever I take that step momentum is close behind it, either in a good way or negatively. Because of this momentum following us where ever we go, as leaders, as young adults we must choose to pursue people that have greater life experience then us and ask them to help us direct our momentum. Where ever we set our focus as young people as the generation we are in, it seems that we will not quit till we accomplish that goal or find another one greater… This momentum can be dangerous if not focused in the right direction. If it is not controlled we can become so focused that we become blind to peoples, or our leaders discernment and words of what they see. We have leaders for a reason and one of those reasons, is we have leaders and people over us because they see things that we don’t coming ahead in our life’s.

As our momentum starts from this point forward, I pray that we do not get caught up in it. That we do not have a fear of taking steps forward. That we do not have a fear of the mountains that we will face, or that we are facing today. There is a momentum going up and I pray once we reach the top not to grow complacent and be satisfied with just conquering this mountain but be willing to go back down to the valley to reach the next one. That we may not be in shock on the other side, when we come down even faster down the mountain then going up to get up to the top. I pray that we have the courage to take one step at a time, and not make excuses of why we want to stay where we are. That as we start gaining momentum in our life’s that we are focused on the right thing, Matthew 6:33, that we remember where the strength is to take on more step comes from. I challenge you to look for The Momentum in your life, and to look in which direction it is going.

“We must choose to move. Or make excuses.” – Andy Mineo

Its worth it if you take just one more step, then another.
