Words that are Eternal.

Early this morning this thought came to me once again I felt I should share with you.
I believe this happens a lot, we tend to forget a lot of times whose words are eternal and whose words are not. Many times we go and ask people questions and ask people there opinions on things we do. We ask them about where they believe we should go, or who they think we should be. We ask them these things all the time. It has happened to me so many times, me being someone who wants to know things; I commonly ask people their opinion.

God has really wrecked me on this these past few years, how I use to ask people all of these things of who they think I should become, what they think I am good at. I would ask them “Why am I wired this way”, but yet, HE is the one that molded me and wired me, not them. He is the one that formed me in my mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:13) Not them. I am made in His image. Not theirs. I am in the form the Great “I AM”. Not them. I am a Son of God. Not a son of them.

Many times I believe we do this very thing and forget who we really are and we forget whose we are.
Even the price Jesus paid to give us His name.

Okay I am going to take you on a little journey stay with me.

Back in the Kingdom age I am going to take you.
Imagine yourself standing outside of a castle that is beyond any explanation, it is beautiful as it is strong. It has mighty towers penetrating the sky. The bricks are pure gold all most to the point of transparency, but mighty and powerful. You slowly walk outside of the castle doors. You see tall strong trees. A bright blue sky, you look to the north and you see hills as far as the eye can see. Now, you notice a kingdom full of people, and shops. You see mothers holding their children with joy. You see horses tied up to a barn, you see Knights in armor to your right and to your left.

You see people buying and selling goods, and kids playing with sticks swinging them at each other like sword fighters. You see a man swinging a hammer hitting metal on an anvil, shaping armor. You see crafters shaping wood into beautiful objects. You see women sowing blankets and clothing. You see another man digging and planting a seeds, and beside him, a man laying bricks to build the walls to the kingdom higher and stronger.

You slowly walk down to the strong city, and start to ask these people something. “Does anyone know who I am? Or what I do? Or where I live?” People tend to look at you a little funny, but then start to give you answers like,
“Well I think you would be great at building bricks to make the kingdom stronger.” “I believe you would be great and making swords and armor at the forge.” “No, you’d be great at selling merchandise!” “You know what you could do; you could be a great farmer.”

You start to think in your mind, “Who am I? “What am I really supposed to be doing here?” “These are some really good thoughts some really good things I could be!”

You start to slowly look up to the sky; it seems to have turned from a bright radiant blue to a dark grey. A storm seems to be passing over head. There is a strong wind, you can feel it brushing past you. As you look around, you start to notice something, the people are not just walking around anymore, but they are running. They are fleeing from everything they once held dear. You look a little farther to the hills, you see an army marching towards the kingdom.

You see strong noble men, with shields and spears. You see others holding a banner high and men beside him with drums. You see archers behind them all getting ready to fire. You finally see a commander on a horse coming over the hill, shouting at his men to move faster. He has such power behind his words it seems, yet his men seem to not listen. You notice a heavy thunderstorm of lightning and great powerful winds like tornado’s in the sky forming behind them.

You feel like the atmosphere changed, like some turned a light switch. You run from where you once were standing to the castles doors, you turn to your right to ask the knight what to do, He shakes his head in astonishment like why are you asking him this. You turn to your left to the other guard to ask the same thing, He is to in awe of the army and storm approaching. You take steps inside the castle which you have come out of, and run to the throne room, pleading with all the guards to let you in, but they seem to not understand what you are saying to them.

You bust into the throne room, you look all around, and you see Purple banners hanging from the top of the roof, Red carpet from the doors to the throne, great pillars holding the roof, chandeliers of majestic stones of rubies and emeralds, You see a throne radiant with gems and gold. The guards all around in bright fierce armor, They seem to be just staring at you.

You start to take steps to the throne slowly, yet as you get closer you see a King smiling in joy to see your face. The King is in a great white cloak with purple lining and a gold and red crown on His head. His armor is shining so brightly it is hard to see all the rest of what he is wearing. You look to his right there is an empty throne with Gold siding and purple cloth drooped over it. You keep getting closer to the king and you notice a crown siting on the empty throne to his right.

You approach the king and say to Him “I am sorry King for approaching you like this, but I am so lost, I do not know who I am or where I came from. I asked the people in the city and they gave me multiple answers. Then I looked out to the hills and saw this great army approaching beyond the hills, they are fierce and strong, with a great commander shouting orders behind their lines. What am I to do? and Who am I?”

The King gently replies,
“Why have you left your throne? Why have you walked out of our kingdom and into the city asking the people about whom you are and what you are supposed to do? You have always been sitting next to me on this throne. Why have you set down your crown I gave you? Do you not remember how I saved you from that very commander that is trying to come for you once again? Do you not think that I can protect you? Do you not remember what I call you? This is your seat, wont you come and take it?”

You stumble back in awe of what the King has just said to you.
You look down and the ground is so reflecting that it shows a reflection of yourself.
You see yourself in pearly white armor, a cloak lined with purple, and gems all a long it. You look at your armor, it seems like it has never touched a battle field. You see no wounds or scratches. You see a sword on your side, its sharp and gleaming. You look at the center of your breastplate, you see the symbol of the Kingdom lined with gems.

You look back to the king and ask. “King I seem to have forgotten who I am, Why do I have all of this on? He replies, “You are my son, you are the one that I fought for, the one that I have shed tears and bled for. You are the one that I have fought for years to protect. You are royalty; You are worth more than those people in the city and what they are trying to call you to be. You are precious, you are mighty and strong. You are meant to sit next to me and show the ones in the city how to live, not ask them, on how to live. Look Son you are mine, no one else’s.”

I am a story-teller as you can see; God teaches me things in stories and shows me things in stories and parables. He loves to use this one on me… Haha. I always forget that I am a prince of the most high. I seem to always forget that I have the keys to the kingdom. I seem to always forget He fought for me, He bled for me, He never held back anything for me. The place I am rightfully is next to Him, yet, I always place myself as if He doesn’t even know my name… Yet, He knows every aspect of who I am! He knows me more than I know myself. He seems to always remind me, “Look you are mine, No one else’s” I am His Beloved. And I shall stay that way.

He has now brought many verses to my attention of not consulting the world, on who I am supposed to be or what I am supposed to do. “Why should we consult the dead on behalf of the living?” We are alive because of Christ. Simple, Right? Nope, nothing is simple with God, He is complex, He is unique, He is beautiful. We are consumed by Him, being consumed does not mean a little bit. No consumed means overflow, over taking, overpowered, nothing left. We are consumed by God so there is nothing left of US, that is why in John, He cries out for more of God and less of Him.

John wanted to be so consumed by God, John wasn’t going to settle with a little bit, he wanted more of Him than ever before. We forget so many times who formed us who made us. We are a prince (or a princess) that means our King protects us, looks after us. Not because He has to, but because He wants to! We decide to really take to heart that we are His, or we can continue to sit by and not believe His word. We decide to believe we are His beloved or continue to think He doesn’t even know us, whenever He knows everything about us.

Sometimes I forget all the time, (well that didn’t make sense at all.) I forget a lot, (there we go) that the words of man, are not eternal. People can share stuff and speak into your life and tell you who they think you should be and what they think you should do. But in the end Gods words are the ones we have to listen to.

We decide to listen and trust the flawed words of imperfect people or the perfect words from a perfect God.

I asked God this one day this, “Why do I constantly ask for other people’s opinions?” He said to me in response,
“Because you seem to have fallen more in Love with man’s opinions than mine.”
Ouch, that hurt, I was done for from that moment forward.

I broke down that night, repenting of falling in love of man’s thoughts of me. I had to let go of the people’s word about me that I was holding on to. I must no longer hold man’s word closer to my heart than I hold His words. I still ask for opinions and questions on a lot of things of my life, but now I have a different reason why I do it.. I ask to see if they line up with the Fathers words that He has already spoken to me.

One thing if you do not get anything else out of this entire thing this is the only thing I really want you to get out of this and that is: We must remember that the only Words that are Eternal are His Words. Not man’s, Not anyone else’s. His alone has lasted for thousands of years on this earth and is still speaking to generations upon generations. You are royalty because of what Jesus did for you. God has fought for you and given you everything.

You are meant to sit by Him, You are Royalty.
It says how His word will never return void. What He has spoken will accomplish what He wants done with it.
By His words He created the universe; I’d like to say those are some powerful words.

John 1, Psalms 12:6 Psalms 119:130,160 Isaiah 55:11

We are His.
